Support  Embudo Valley Library with a vehicle donation!

Completing Your Donation is Easy! Here’s How It Works:

  1. Call 855-500-RIDE (855-500-7433)
or Submit the Secure Online Form HERE. Our Vehicle Donor Support Team will walk you through the process, including arranging your free pick-up and helping you with steps to release your liability after you donate.
  2. Schedule Your Free Pick-up. In most cases, we can schedule the vehicle pick-up with a preferred licensed vendor on the initial call once the donation record has been completed. Our vehicle donation program has also requested that drivers practice safe and secure interactions with donors, including minimizing contact.
  3. Receive a Donation Receipt. In most cases, you will receive an initial donation receipt from the tow driver at the time of your vehicle pick-up. If the vehicle sells for $500 or less, donors are also mailed a thank-you letter within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle, which serves as a tax receipt. If the vehicle sells for more than $500 and the donor has provided their tax identification number, an IRS Form 1098-C will be mailed to the donor within 30 days of the sale stating the amount of gross proceeds (the maximum amount of your tax deduction) received from your donation. For specific tax-related questions, please consult a tax advisor.

If you have questions about the process, email donorsupport@careasy.org. Our Vehicle Donor Support Team is available seven days a week and will be happy to assist you. During the call, please have the title in hand to make the process even faster.

Volunteer

The Embudo Valley Library relies on volunteers to accomplish its mission, providing daily library service and programs to rural residents. Last year over 900 circulation hours were contributed to the library by volunteers. Our main volunteer position involves a 2  hour weekly shift, greeting people, helping with searches, checking items in and out, and shelving. This allows staff to work on other projects such as cataloging, or program development.

We also have more specialized tasks we need volunteer help to accomplish. If you are interested in volunteering for the library please call 505-579-9181 to schedule a time that works best for you. Thank you!

Book Donations

Like many public libraries, we have limited space. However, we are happy to receive your donation of recent, high quality books. Please bring them into the library so we can sort them.

- Newer books in good condition will be added to the collection if they seem to fit our demographic.

- Older books, duplicate copies and most paperbacks will be sold to make money for the library.

- Please bring DVDs into the library for librarians to review.

- You can leave magazines on the magazine area of the Front Porch Book Sale.

- Please, no textbooks, encyclopedia sets, damaged books or VHS tapes.

- Please do not leave boxes of books when the library is closed.

Please call first if you have a large donation of 3 or more boxes, rare, specialty, or vintage books or non-book items such as maps, software, or puzzles.  Thank you for your generosity!

Book Sale 24/7

Our Front Porch Book Sale, in front of the library, operates on the honor system. Please place cash in provided envelopes and drop in the green book drop box. No need to record book titles or amounts on the envelopes. Proceeds from the book sale support the library's core operations. Thank you for your generosity!
