Volunteers

The Embudo Valley Library relies on volunteers to accomplish its mission, providing daily library service and programs to rural residents. Last year over 900 circulation hours were contributed to the library by volunteers. Our main volunteer position involves a 2.5 hour weekly shift, greeting people, helping with searches, checking items in and out, and shelving. This allows staff to work on other projects such as cataloging, or program development.

We also have more specialized tasks we need volunteer help to accomplish, such as processing new items into the collection and applying cataloging labels, covering new books with protective material, sorting and shelving books in the book sale and other tasks. If you are interested in volunteering for the library please call 505-579-9181 to schedule a time that works best for you. Thank you!
