The Embudo Valley Library relies on volunteers to accomplish its mission, providing daily library service and programs to rural residents. Last year over 900 circulation hours were contributed to the library by volunteers. Our main volunteer position involves a 2.5 hour weekly shift, greeting people, helping with searches, checking items in and out, and shelving. This allows staff to work on other projects such as cataloging, or program development.
We also have more specialized tasks we need volunteer help to accomplish. If you are interested in volunteering for the library please call 505-579-9181 to schedule a time that works best for you. Thank you!
We are happy to receive your high quality book donations. Please bring them into the library so we can sort them. Books that are newer and in good condition we add to the collection, older books we send to the book sale to help raise money for the library. Please, no textbooks or damaged books. Thank you for your book donations!
Book Sale 24/7
We have an ongoing Book Sale that operates on the honor system in the open air garage building behind the community center (217 Hwy 75, Dixon, NM 87527.) Proceeds from the book sale support the library's core operations.
