Saturday, May 3rd. Embudo Valley Library had its Grand Opening Celebration. The ceremony began at 2:00 with Ulysses Harrison and Oliver Youens-Clark cutting the ribbon and Shel Neymark, board chairman, addressing the crowd with a brief history of the library. He concluded with many thank to all involved in the 22 year process of finding EVL's permanent home.

Volunteers served refreshments prepared by the staff, the board and community members. Eating went on throughout the two hour event. KLDK held a live broadcast as Los Coyotes de Canoncito played music in the orchard under the tent.  In the south west corner of the library kids gathered around on pillows to hear Paulette Atencio tell her New Mexico tales.  Adults and children alike participated in a challenging scavenger hunt that took them throughout the library.
